The VISTA Table Talks Mini Series is a three part virtual series featuring VISTA members from the Up2Us Summer VISTA Program. Each part will showcase different summer VISTAs and their experiences as brand founders, DACA recipients from immigrant families and women leaders in sports. The goal of the Summer VISTA program is to provide organizations with short term capacity building AmeriCorps members to support organizations' mission to alleviate poverty over a nine week summer term.
In the third part part of our mini series, we’re joined by Up2Us Summer VISTAs Grace Thede and Delaney Grant who are serving at Football of the World & Erika Olivera-Gutierrez who is serving at Up2Us Sports. In this episode we are revisiting the the topic of women and girls in sports. All three women are female college athletes that played soccer at the highest level. They’ll dive into their experiences as female athletes, the barriers they’ve faced and the challenges that are unique to the female athletic experience. This conversation is lead by Up2Us Summer Cohort leader and female athlete, Kayla Smith.
The episode will air live on the Up2Us VISTA IGTV Channel on Wednesday, September 1st at 12pm ET. It will also stream on the Up2Us Sports Spotify channel.
