Up2Us Sports Field Champion Coaches Pamela Ayala and Blair Harvey were two of five Dodgers Dreamteam coaches named a 2023 Dodgers Dreamteam Coach of the Year last week by the LA Dodgers Foundation (LADF).
The awards are chosen by LA Dodgers Manager Dave Roberts and seeks to recognize coaches who have made a positive impact in the lives of Dodgers Dreamteam players both on and off the field.

“Having won Coach of the Year is such an honor. This award acknowledges that my coaching skills and strategies have made a positive impact on my teams and their families who voted for me this year. I appreciate the communities I served for believing that I've demonstrated the abilities and capacity to inspire and motivate the youth I served through my positive influence on their growth as young individuals.
Winning this award encourages me to continue learning, improving my coaching skills, and striving for excellence in my journey. This award is ultimately a representation of my commitment to my players, the community, and the values I've instilled in them passionately this year.
Lastly, I want to congratulate every other coach who also won this award and salute those who are also serving their community through sports. Thank you to the Up2Us Sports and LADF teams for all the amazing support.”

"First, let me say that any individual who dedicates their free time to the uplifting of children via sports, and does so with passion and a sense of urgency, is Coach of the Year.
Winning this award isn't a reflection of me being better than any individual who fits that which I described above. Winning this award is more of a validation that there are multiple families and children out of the city of Inglewood who appreciate my efforts as their coach. They honor me with their votes. I appreciate them for their trust and honor them with my continued dedication. The Coach of the Year trophy is simply a physical manifestation of that relationship."

Pamela and Blair served as Up2Us Sports Field Champion coaches at the Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation in Los Angeles thanks to support from AmeriCorps.
