Up2Us Sports' Young Voices Series is a series of one-hour virtual events in collaboration with their partner organizations, that give youth an opportunity to speak about the issues that affect them and their communities most.
At a time when our country reckons with its history of inequality, the socioeconomic and health impacts of sports cannot be overstated. On January 26th, 2021, Up2Us Sports hosted a conversation with students from The Fair Play Coalition to hear about their efforts to ensure equal access to sports in New York City public high schools, especially schools that are majority Black and Latinx.
If you missed it, watch the recording below or on our YouTube Channel.
Guests included Fair Play students Alexandra O., Kadija K., Moises J., Josiah R., and Devaun L. It was moderated by Jenny Veloz, Community Organizer at New York Lawyers for the Public Interest and Lead Organizer for Fair Play and Obrian Rosario, Youth Coach at IntergrateNYC and Director at the Peer Defense Project.
The panel was hosted by Up2Us Sports Chief Marketing Officer, Mario Argote.
