In this new monthly series, “Mission Moments,” we will be featuring stories of coaches, staff and ambassadors who want to talk about why they are a part of Up2Us Sports and share specific moments they have experienced as living examples of our mission.
This month’s is Up2Us Sports Ambassador Collette V. Smith, the first female coach for the New York Jets, the first African American female coach in the NFL, the Founder of Believe N You, Inc, a former Women's Pro Football League player and coach with the New York Sharks. Collette joined Up2Us Sports as an ambassador in May 2019.
Collette participated in the Up2Us Sports Women & Girls Sports Symposium on October 14-15, 2020 and was so impacted by it that she wanted to share with the Up2Us Sports team about what it meant to her and a really exciting opportunity that came out of it.
