In July, 2017, it was announced that The Humana Foundation, located in Louisville, Ky., is providing Up2Us Sports grants in both New Orleans, LA and Tampa Bay, FL. to improve the health and well-being of community residents. Up2Us Sports was one of five nonprofit organizations in New Orleans to receive a total of $525,000, and one of four nonprofit organizations to receive a total of $330,000 to in the Tampa Bay area. As the philanthropic arm of Humana Inc. (NYSE: HUM), the Humana Foundation seeks to improve community health and well-being, while addressing root causes and barriers that keep people from being their healthiest. New Orleans and Tampa Bay are a priority for Humana, as the company is committed to making the community 20 percent healthier by 2020 as part of its Bold Goal initiative. “The Humana Foundation is delighted to support these deserving nonprofits in their efforts to provide resources to help residents achieve their best health,” said Pattie Dale Tye, interim executive director of the Humana Foundation.
