AmeriCorps VISTA (Volunteers In Service To America) is a national service program to fight poverty in America. Each VISTA member makes a year-long, full-time commitment to serve on a specific project at a nonprofit organization or public agency. In return for their service, AmeriCorps VISTA members receive a modest living allowance and health benefits during their service, and have the option to receive a Segal AmeriCorps Education Award or post-service stipend after completing their service. Up2Us Sports VISTA Leader New York, NY
The Up2Us Sports VISTA Leader is position for a person who has served a previous AmeriCorps term and will be based in the New York City National office. He/she will work directly with the project supervisor to expand and build the capacity of 25 VISTA members (17 in NY and 8 national placements). View position posting here.
Up2Us Sports Evaluation Associate New York, NY
The VISTA will be responsible for increasing programs’ capacity to administer fitness tests and surveys accurately. The VISTA will work closely with the national Monitoring & Evaluation team on strategy design and will have the opportunity to be creative. The VISTA will design and create bi-weekly qualitative data summaries to improve Up2Us Sports staff support of coaches and program staff. The VISTA will also identify key stories and quotes for use in marketing materials. In addition, the VISTA will help develop an alumni database, assist in building a taskforce of engaged alumni coaches to help build the program, create a social media page to organize alumni and keep them updated on events. Up2Us Sports Mid-Atlantic Development Associate Philadelphia
The Development Associate will build capacity of the Up2Us Sports Mid-Atlantic and development teams by creating and improving systems that can continue to be implemented in future years. He/she will provide grant-writing support for regional fundraising, assist with regional/national prospecting, and assist in building systems for collaboration between the development, finance and monitoring and evaluation teams. Up2Us Sports Evaluation and Development Associate Chicago, IL
This VISTA will divide their time between evaluation and development/community outreach responsibilities in order to increase the capacity of the Chicago office and support for local SBYD organizations. S/he will support Up2Us Sports staff, host sites, and coaches as needed with monitoring and evaluation requirements. They will also represent Up2Us Sports at CLOCC (Consortium to Lower Obesity in Chicago's Children) meetings and participate in the research and evaluation group in order to report back to Up2Us Sports on current trends in research and evaluation in Chicago To support Chicago development, the VISTA will gather local and regional research to provide important, up-to-date information for development-related work; contribute to grant proposal content creation; conduct local and regional prospecting; and build partnerships with community councils and CDCs.
